Dinner at Tommy and Sanie’s

On the Thursday before the President’s Prize we had dinner at Tommy and Sanie’s. We ate at the dining room table. No one EVER eats there. I took a picture to make sure the rest of the family believed me.

Late Night.

The above video (click to play) shows that the craic and carry-on went late into the night. We escaped around half 2, but rumor has it there were still brave souls there at 6 in the morning.

At the President’s Table

John hosted an invite-only dinner Saturday evening. Apparently he made a mistake, because I was invited.

I think Esther noticed me taking pictures. Eugene clearly didn’t.

Golf in the morning

After a quick breakfast in the club house, Tommy set off with the best caddy his money could buy.

The video (click the image above) doesn’t do justice to the immense power of Tommy’s cack-handed swing. At the par 4 opener, he was nearly on the green with that shot.

We strolled up to the first green, still not near where Tommy’s shot landed.

He got in a bit of trouble on the 3rd. Perhaps his erstwhile caddy was giving bad advice.

Looking south from the 4th tee box, you can see again the accuracy of Irish weather reports.

And directly to the west, sailboats approach the breakwater.

After the 7th, I headed back in to the club house.

Glenmacnass Waterfall

Posted by on 19 Aug 2010 | Tagged as: Fishy

On Tuesday, after Glendalough we drove through the mountain pass roads, until we came upon the mighty Glenmacnass waterfall. There were some people gathered at the top, and some whisky barrels, but no evidence of people going over the falls in them.
